Study of Risk Identification Factors in Foundry Industrial

Abstract

The Purposes of this research were to

  1. study and analyze hazard in working in foundry industries.
  2. study the causes and the levels of hazard in working.
  3. assess risks in the foundry industries.

A target group consisted of 380 persons working in the foundry industries in Thailand selected by a stratified sampling. Statistics used in this research were mean, percentage, standard-error, and correlation so as to assess the risks involved and to discover possibilities of hazard in the working places. A statistical mean (y) = 0.75 and standard-error (S.E.) = 0.0551 showed a medium level of the hazard. Significant statistic Chi – Square test = 0.05 resumed that the dangers which occurred are related to these factors: the working places, workers, a number of working hours/day and an amount of working time/hour which determined the risks of accident leading even to death. The death possibility was = 3.04×10-6 , body organ loss = 1.968×10-5, a loss of 3 workdays = 0.086, a loss of less than 3 days = 0.028 or no accident = 0.704. The occurrence of accidents related to these various factors. The possibility of accident related to the work plan at each level of production.
